The Brain Train is a fun-filled educational game for children aged 6+. It not only tells the story of a group of adventurous kids but stimulates many early emotions in children like empathy, kindness, curiosity and more. For this project, I was in charge of all the mini-games that are played in every scene. Each scene is unique: a new chapter, something different to learn like specific animals and why they live in the canopy layer of the forest for example and a mini-game associated to the story and feel of the scene. I designed 25 mini-games as the sole designer for the project as well creating some narrative content for hints, interactions and instructions.
Each game teaches the player a new life skill like cooking, cleaning, driving, measurements, tracking, swimming, financing and many more. I designed each one, using different styles of touch screen mechanics and plenty of on-screen prompts for aid in completion. Some examples of mechanics include line tracing for stitching a wound, slide gear shifting and swipe steering for driving, match 3 style games and plenty more.
