Brave Adventurer was a game I designed for McDonald’s. Unlike a regular mobile game, this game uses the Kinect and projects the game onto a tabletop/floor, making a regular surface in McDonald’s interactive and fun! Magic Table games range from 1-6 players, and 1-8 players can play Magic Floor games!
Each quadrant has a sandy scene, and the aim is to dig up the holes in the sand to uncover something. The players can either reveal a fossil or an empty hole. The game’s objective is to find as many fossils as possible before the time is up. At the bottom of the screen is a little notebook the players can refer to throughout the game. They can see which fossils they have discovered and which are yet to be found. If all fossils have been discovered, the game will refresh, and the player can find plenty more. When the timer is up, the player who has unearthed the most fossils is declared the winner.
Alongside designing this game in 2 formats (circular & rectangular), I also created all the UI elements and all the in-game effects.
Game Link: This game is a Magic Tabletop game that is playable only in McDonald’s stores, so there isn’t a link to play it. However, you can read about the games and where to find a Play Area to try out the game in person! McDonald’s Happy Meal Games
