Forest Finder was a game I designed for McDonald’s. Unlike a regular mobile game, this game uses the Kinect and projects the game onto a table-top/floor making a regular surface in McDonald’s interactive and full of fun! Magic Table games range from 1-6 players and Magic Floor games can be played by 1 player or more; however many it takes to fill up the space!
This is a simple tapping game projected onto the Magic Floor and the aim is to find the Happy (the Happy Meal Character) that’s in the finder. Once the correct Happy has been located, the users are awarded with a point; even if they’ve used multiple hints. The environment is always moving, giving the game a truly ‘full of life’ feeling. When the timer is up, the user is shown how many Happy’s they found!
Alongside designing the game, I also created all the UI elements: the large wooden board, the circular wooden panels, the timer, the score and all the in-game effects.
